Greetings to all,
Nepalgunj Medical College (NGMC) is proud of 25 years of untiring efforts to improve the health sector in Nepal. Ever since its establishment under the aegis of Lord Buddha Educational Academy Ltd in 1997, NGMC has been able to institutionalize its name among the prestigious medical colleges of Nepal and outside. This Medical College has campuses in three places. The Basic Science Campus is at Chisapani, an eye-soothing place at the foot-hill of the Himalayas. The Main Teaching Hospital is in Kohalpur, Banke by the side of the East-West highway. The Nepalgunj Teaching Hospital, offering highly specialized and sophisticated services such as Plastic Surgery, Neuro-Surgery, Cardiology, and Urology, among others is close to the Indian border (Rupaidiya, Bahraich, UP) and is only 180 kilometers from Lucknow which is connected to the college by a highway.
The Medical College is affiliated with Kathmandu University and is fully recognized by the Nepal Medical Council and Srilankan Medical Council and figures in the Medical School directory of the World Health Organization (WHO). It offers MBBS courses and post-graduate courses in most of the disciplines. Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Magister of Chirurgiae (MCh) programs will be launched by the college once the preparations for it get over.
Our students have done us proud by passing the USMLE Exam of the USA and by securing top positions in the screening tests of the Medical Council of India.
NGMC is fully equipped to provide accommodations to the students in self-contained comfortable rooms. The college has been consistently working to bring together a faculty of highly qualified health academics and I feel that we have succeeded in it so far. Producing graduates who will have an impact on academia, society, and the nation is what Nepalgunj Medical College is best at doing. We want to give continuity to this success of ours and eventually develop the college into a university. With the Deemed University, we intend to serve the overall higher education sector of the country, not just medical education.
